Auto Row Portals are located in the heart of the revitalized Broadway Valdez District, known as Auto Row. The two gates, one on each side of Broadway, are inspired by vintage blueprints of auto parts designed and manufactured in the US in the early 20th Century. These designs reflect Auto Row’s heyday as a burgeoning and vital part of Oakland’s culture and economy. The gates serve as a reminder of this rich and important part of Oakland’s history.
