Cayuga Portal integrates images of mythical creatures and humorous characters inspired by the wood carved folk art sculptures of Demitrio Baracas, an artist and caretaker of Cayuga Park. Over a period of more than 20 years Baracas completed over 400 sculptures for Cayuga Park. Cayuga Portal takes this significant and authentic body of work and interprets it in a new way, creating an portal that draws people to explore this unique San Francisco park.
