Native Land commemorates the Reno-Sparks Indian Colony community, which is integral to the City of Reno. The a two-sided sculpture on the East Second Street Bridge includes a rich variety of subjects significant and sacred to the colony. Included are animals, pelts, pottery and baskets. “Native Land” is a highly visible and compelling identity marker for the RSIC community.
